pipe was present.
Build 3.0.81 September 28, 2009
Build 3.0.80 September 21, 2009
- Replaced ByOthers on the Stack Editor Screen with a new Piece
Source drop down list. Piece Source allows pieces to be forced
to Stock, Custom, ByOthers, or to use MH Pro's normal rules to
determine if a piece is custom.
Build 3.0.79 September 14, 2009
- Structures can now have any of four release states: Edit,
Submitted, Released, and On Hold.
- Auto is now an option for Structure Angle (step placement in
round structures). Auto will try to place the steps away from
the pipes. This should work correctly for most
structures.
- Bug Fixes:
- Weir walls are not included in the channel weight.
Build 3.0.78 September 4, 2009
- The name of the top of the structure can now be set for

generate a warning when any change is applied to it.
- MH Pro now dimensions the angles on holes in double curb
inlets.
- Bug Fixes:

cannot be made. This makes it easier to show a drawing to
the engineer and say, "No, an 18" RCP pipe does not fit in
a 24" catch basin."
- Doghouse openings no longer draw in separate bases when
the pipe is in the center of the hole and the pipe is also
on the floor of the separate base.
- Ignored openings in the floor no longer make a piece
custom.
- The Protractor On Screen now does a better job of
staying on top of PDF files.

Miscellaneous Items and Pipe Fitting data grids when
corresponding duplicates exist in the libraries.
- Properly add up the Miscellaneous Items so that
unpriceable entries do not get lumped together as a single
line item.
- When an exact match of base key is not required, but the
default joint types do match, then an exact match with the
riser spigot is use if available.
- Platforms now draw properly in the plan view of
structures that do not have steps.

- Connectors now ignore By Others in the Pipe Library. To
remove a connector from the reports, set the Connector Type and
Model to the blank entry.
- Miscellaneous Items and Pipe Fittings:
- Added a new 'Pricing Description' column to the
Miscellaneous Items/Pipe Fittings for Structure tables in
order to cross reference the corresponding entry in the
Pricing Screen.
- When the Description does not match the Pricing
Description, a status line is generated. This should
prevent errors that result from improper changes to these
entries.
- Added a new 'In Library' column which contains 'Yes' for
an entry that has a corresponding library and 'No' for one
that's missing.
- Bug Fixes:
- Fixed pricing so that each Price List has the same
Description. This eliminates the potential for different
product descriptions from different price lists.
- Fixed an error associated with the 'Ignore Item' Data
Source selection on the Miscellaneous Items Screen and the
Pipe Fittings Screen.
Build 3.0.72 July 22, 2009

an opening type. Just specify the top of the weir wall, MH
Pro will show notches on both sides of every piece down to
the floor.
- The minimum concrete around hole (MCAH) can now be ignored
by the base calculations (that is, when MCAH is 6" and the
floor is 5" MH Pro can now let the hole sit on the floor
instead of 1" above the floor).

Build 3.0.12 September 4, 2008
- Added "Current Frame" and "Current Grate" tabs to the
Fab. Steel & Cast Iron screen to provide a quick method for
modifying the current casting used in the structure. This new
capability reduces the amount of library entries that would
normally be required to model a family of castings with
similar data. The modified casting(s) do not create a new
entry in the library. Instead, they only change the entry
for the current structure.

- Most graphical and BOM reports now support selectable
DisplayUnits to automatically show outputs in Metric or
English. (The opening schedule, unfortunately, is still only
in native units.)
- Warn when a hole is too big for the structure according to
arbitrary limit for each SectionSize. Note that you must
supply the arbitrary holesize limit for each SectionSize for
this check to run.
- Added AboveLargePipes as a new reduction style.
AboveLargePipes works from the same holesize limits as the
hole too big warning above, so you must provide the arbitrary
holesize limits for each chimney size for this reduction style
to run.
- New options for pricing make it easier to mark each piece
with an appropriate pricing schema WallOnly, SlabOnly, and
SlabEaAndWall.
- Bug Fixes:

by color. This should make it easier to find the screen you
are looking for.
- Bug Fixes:
- The Use? column is reliably visible on the Pipe and
Fabricated Steel screens without scrolling.
- A Custom size opening on a structure will make the top
piece of the structure match the Custom size on the
Structure Design screen. An Any size opening on a
structure will make the top piece of the structure match
the size on the frame of the structure. (I hope that's
clear. (Yes it is. Clear as mud.))
Build 2.1.59 July 1, 2008
- Bug Fixes:
- Steps can now be placed in bases without regard for the
benching even when the benching will cover the steps.

Stack Editor now read the actual opening and structure
sizes to determine the tangent offset detents.
- Fixed volume calculations for slabs with an internal
landing shelf.
Build 2.1.56 June 4, 2008

- The print button on reports is now only available after
the report has finished generating. This avoids an
condition where the report locked up when the print button
was pressed before the report finished generating.
- Drip Stones now properly calculate weight.
Build 2.1.55 June 2, 2008
- Added a Holes Below Floor override setting to the Structure
Design Screen. This allows each structure to specify whether
holes are allowed to extend below the floor slab of the
structure. Hole Below Floor normally uses the value set for
each precast base. This new setting allows Holes Below Floor
to be changed on the fly when needed.
- The stack editor now treats the delete key as a Delete, and
a double click as an Add Above.
- Bug Fixes:
- The two-up landscape shop report now forms a larger
gutter between the pieces on the right and left sides of
each sheet.
- Pipe ends now include more detail in the default Pricing
and BOM entries.
Build 2.1.54 May 28, 2008

- A new PriceList field allows jobs to use an appropriate
price list.
- A new TargetTextHeight graphic setting allows a bit more
control of font size in the elevation view.
- Connectors can now be marked as Stock so that you can more
easily match pipes with your stock connectors.
- Bug Fixes:
- Fixed a division by zero error in the wall and slab
pricing routines.
- Database contention errors when using a shared library
now back off and re-try before giving up. This should
reduce hard errors.

structures so that parallel holes at the same angle will
draw stepped parallel dimensions. This means that two
sets of parallel holes at the same angle now draw
properly.
Build 2.1.26 January 24, 2008
- Added a new 'Tight Merge' option to the Plan Collision
Option field in the Plan View Screen. This new option allows
the opening ID's on the plan view to pack very tightly before
merging into a single callout. This can make Swiss cheese
structures more readable, but it can also result in IDs that
draw on top of each other, so use it with care.
- Bug Fixes:

the migrated database was exported before it was later
imported.
Build 2.1.23 January 14, 2008
- Cone weights are now automatically calculated. If you have
given us actual cone weights, these will continue to be used.
The calculated weights are often on the conservative side
(heavy), so actual weights are still preferred over the
calculated weights.

structure size dimensions in addition to the overall size
dimension that currently generate only for extended
bases.
- Bug Fixes:
- Fixed copy logic in the Pipe, Pipe Fittings, and
Miscellaneous Items Screens.
- Fixed a bug in synchronizing data for openings that
would leave the graphic views showing old data until the
opening was kicked with a large change. It now behaves
properly.
- The data migration screen now does a better job of
determining what data the archive database can
receive. This fixes an error where the archive process
would try to copy data to tables that did not exist.

- No errors generate when importing libraries from
databases without library tables.
Build 2.1.15 October 30, 2007
- Added a feature for trimming an opening's pipe distance to
the structure's inside wall. The trimmed pipe provides more
accurate pipe quantities in BOM and pipe reports. Also, the
Site Plan displays the trimmed pipe to a structure's inside
wall instead of the center. Please contact FBE to activate
this feature.
Build 2.1.14 October 23, 2007
- Changed dimensioning for elongated openings in boxes in
the Plan View to display both width and height as
xxxW/xxxH where "xxx" is the width/height dimension.
However, elongated openings such as dog house openings
DO NOT display the full dog house height dimension to the
dog house edge of the piece.
Build 2.1.13 October 17, 2007
- Added a new "Shop" column to the BOM table in the Status
screen. The new Shop column displays an "X" for precast
pieces that will generate a shop drawing.
- Added a new "Specify Qtys" check box to the Pipe Fittings
screen. When Specify Qtys is checked, the user can control
pipe quantities for the downstream ("From" and/or "To")
pipes. Otherwise, the system automatically calculates just
the downstream pipe quantity (From Qty) as the difference
between the structure distance and the pipe fitting
distance.

Ignore Structure on the Structure Screen to skip the
structure in most reports.
Build 2.0.37 June 12, 2007
- Added additional controls for filtering and searching
for rows in the Pricing screen. Each column has a new control
located directly above the heading which provides a drop down
list for selecting an entry to filter for the matching row(s).
In addition to the drop down list, a key string may be entered
in the control to search for row(s) that contain the matching
string. At this time, only the Category (filter only, entry
not allowed), Product ID, and Description controls are
functional.
- Bug Fixes:

- Changing the PricingKey of a Base Poured In Field now
changes the Elevation view description of the base. This
means that a gravel bed below the riser can now say "Gravel
bed".
- Bug Fixes:
- Automatic Stacking now recalculates the location of
each Below Adjustment opening based on the candidate stack.
This allows the collision calculations to properly
count the collisions for each candidate stack.
- MH Pro! EZ can now generate reports when installed on
a Windows Vista machine. Our testing for Vista is not yet
complete, but this gets things started.
- Miscellaneous Items are now included in export
databases.
- Openings that are in both the first riser and in a
Base Poured In Field now draw appropriately in the riser
if the top of the pipe is in the riser. (If the top of
pipe is below the riser, we assume that no alteration of
the riser is needed.)

based on the GraphicSettings. This means that the view
marked A-A is the elevation view as seen on the report.
- The Job screen can now show the Location1 and Location2
fields from the Job table.
- Bug Fixes:
- The Export Database report used to lose openings
when exporting single or selected structures. Openings
that ran to upstream structures would be lost. Now they
are converted to AdHoc openings.
- The elevation view no longer dimensions the structure
TopOfCasting on shop drawing of pieces with cast-in
frames.
- BOM now formats quantities to, at most, two decimal
places. This fixes unreadable data when showing
fractional quantities.

- The Pricing Key of a precast piece can now be edited on the
Stack Editor. This allows the creation of custom, priceable
pieces that show the edited Pricing Key in the Bill of
Materials and part description.
- OutletInRiser is a new goodness criteria. In structures with
sumps, this will place the outlet hole at the bottom of the
first riser where it is easy to position in the form.
- The button toolbar can now be forced to stay at the top or
on the left side of the screen.
- Bug Fixes:
- AutoStacking now properly treats a Zero Or One setting
as Zero even when the zone is limited with a Minimum
Height and a Maximum height.
- Sumps and holes in floors can be box shaped.
Build 2.0.8 January 30, 2007

Floor.
- PSX Cast-a-Seal boots are now included in the Connector
Library.
- Manhole Tee bases can now be stacked for 180 degree
straight through configurations.
- Bug Fixes:
- Resolved a long standing uncommitted change issue
where the Paste command on the Structure Design screen
would confuse the Reference Structure selection on the
Structure screen. When the uncommitted change on the
Structure screen saved, it over wrote the data from
the Structure Design screen's Paste command.
Build 2.0.6 January 19, 2007
Build 2.0.5 January 17, 2007
Build 2.0.4 January 12, 2007
Build 2.0.3 January 10, 2007
Build 2.0.2 January 9, 2007
- The MH Pro! EZ help file has been updated with current
information.
- There are now three possible pricing methods for quoting a
structure one of which (the first) is based on BOM data. A
Quote may contain structures which are priced using one, some,
or all of:
- The current method of rolling up a price from individual
piece and component prices
- A price as fixed plus price per unit height
- A specified price for each structure
- A new Quote report uses these new pricing methods.
- The status screen display of BOM and Quote date has been
reformatted to show important data in the first columns.
- The status screen now uses a light blue color to highlight
pricing errors. This should make it easier to distinguish
between ignorable pricing errors and important design
errors.
- A new paper describes MH Pro! EZ's calculation and rounding
process in great detail. We have used this to tweak the
rounding routines to match customer expectations of hole
placement.
- Bug Fixes:
- Status updates no longer throw occasional database
errors. We found that bug and hung it out to dry.
- Cone interior silhouette lines are shown in light
gray.
Build 2.0.1 December 18, 2006
- MH Pro! EZ is now covered by US Patent 7,146,295. In
celebration, MH Pro! EZ is now Version 2.0. We also had a
party at the bar to celebrate. You can celebrate by enjoying
Version 2.0.
- Placement of holes in boxes is now more accurate and more
flexible. In addition to the F modifier that places a hole
into the closest box face, the new R modifier places the hole
in the Right face, (L in the Left face) as seen when looking
down the pipe from the center of the structure. This makes it
easier to move pipes into the short wall of a rectangular box,
or to select the appropriate wall for a 45 degree pipe in a
square structure.
- Goss Traps (oil traps for curb inlets) do not copy to inlet
pipes.
- Bug Fixes:
- When using the F placement modifier for a 45 degree pipe
in a square structure, the Plan and Elevation view each
chose a different face for placement. This was bad.
- More reports now switch automatically between lbs and
kgs.
- The BOM re-work in 1.1.77 accidentally dropped channels
from the BOM.
Build 1.1.79 December 6, 2006
- CAD blocks can now be used for openings in the Plan View.
- Bug Fixes:
- Hole size once again calculates when pipe size
changes.
Build 1.1.78 December 4, 2006
- Dynamically sized structures are now released.
- Bug Fixes:
- Poured in field bases were confused when a structure
had only a floor elevation. Now they are not
confused.
- Rounding of hole dimensions can now be controlled more
exactly with HoleDimRoundOffset. This allows us to
specify that 0.75 should round down to 0 while 0.76
rounds up to 1. The old Down rounding would
round 0.99 to 0., so HoleDimRoundOffset allows us to
control rounding so that it makes sense. (This fixes
a customer issue where 0.02' (0.24") was rounded Down
to 0.00" rather than the desired 0.25".)
Build 1.1.77 November 20, 2006
- Boot clamps can be shown on BOM By Structure and BOM
Summary reports.
- Piece notes and structure notes are now shown on BOM
By Structure reports by default.
- Bug Fixes:
- The code to retrieve Contractor Library data on the
Archive screen was flawed. It copied all the data, but
failed to commit the change. It now commits the change.
Build 1.1.76 November 15, 2006
- Changed the PIC check box on the Pipe Library to Pipe
Location. The new Pipe Location control provides Center,
Bottom, and Top selections. Additionally, the placement of the
hole along the pipe centerline can be controlled by a vertical
distance.
- AutoStacking has been tweaked so that candidate stacks at
Build Tolerance Low are not displayed. This eliminates
essentially duplicate stacks when the structure's build height
aligns with standard precast piece increments.
- Structures can now specify Silica Fume or Con MIC Shield
admixture for precast pieces.
- NPC connectors have been updated to match the current
product sheets.
- Added Lane HDPE pipes.
- Bug Fixes:
- There are now descriptions labeling each of the
Custom graphic setting options. We should have done
that a while ago.
Build 1.1.75 October 25, 2006
- A new Reduction Style, "Above Outlet Hole" can be used
to locate the slab reducer relative to the top of the outlet
hole.
- Frames can now specify "Notch For" to create a notch on
the precast piece below that will hold the frame. This is
similar to "Cast In", but the Frame ships loose rather than in
the precast assembly.
- There is a new Stack Use key for the Structure Design
Screen. "Zero/More limit each" allows a riser zone to deeply
stack using any particular size. This allows reference
structures to be easily created that limit the weight of each
piece.
- Bug Fixes:
- Screen prints in landscape mode were screwed up by
code that was trapping for other errors. Now they
position properly.
- Fixed a lag-by-one situation when modifying the
pricing screen.
Build 1.1.74 October 4, 2006
- Bug Fixes:
- Base slabs poured in risers now draw and document more
appropriately when the riser is placed on blocks before
the pour.

the existing Clamp Count field and updated these fields on the
database with manufacturer data for booted connectors (PSX, IPS,
and Kor-N-Seal.)
- Stacked structures can now be copied and pasted. Use the popup
menu on the Flow Tree to copy and paste. (And you can paste
structures into different jobs too!)

- Dog house openings can now cause a riser to pour
inverted.
- Better formatting of XML reports in OpenOffice.
Build 1.1.70 September 12, 2006
- Boot Band fit is now validated. MH Pro will now warn when
a boot will not fit in a structure because the curvature of the
hole is to great to support the band. The calculations are valid
for normal and parallel holes using any boot including wide band
boots.
- The BOM by Structure and BOM summary reports can now show
notes about structures and pieces.
- The wrap of foamed openings can now be included in shop
reports. In a related note, Foam is now on the list of
HoleTypes.
- Reports can now be sorted by DeliveryDate.
- Bug Fixes:
- Parallel holes in the chimney of reducing structures now
document their offset properly.
Build 1.1.69 August 31, 2006
- Slab Thickness now automatically varies with Height on the
Stack Editor when the piece is marked to do so.
- Adjusting Rings now present only one of the possible
adjusting ring combinations of those available (e.g. an 8" stack
of rings will only show 6"+2" and will not show 4"+4").

displays to look like the Shop and Submittal reports.
- There is a new option on the graphic popup menu to measure
distance.
- A new status message displays opening/joint collisions and
MCAH (Minimum Concrete Around Hole) violations. Note that MCAH
violations between openings are not checked for.

outlet length changes.
- FBE Remote Support now directly connects without requiring
a double click.

- Pipe, fabricated steel, and precast pieces can be marked
"By Others". Reports can use this field to select only the parts
that will be shipped.
- New graphic options for Frames allows the frame to draw the
frame and cover/grate without using a grate specification.
This should mean that matched frame/cover sets will never need
a grate specification.
Build 1.1.60 July 11, 2006
- PDF files can now be created for each element in the report's
Table of Contents. (That is one file per structure, or one
file per custom piece, etc.)
- A Cast-In frame now makes a piece custom, and the frame name
is appended to the description of the piece.
- If an AutoCAD block is available for a Cast-In frame it is
drawn with its piece in the elevation view.
- Bug Fixes:
- Descriptive hole callouts now note the hole shape and
uniformly describe hole size as Span X Rise.

- Added capability to the Plan View to display AutoCAD blocks
for Top and Bottom views.
- Added a new "Flange Ext. Radius" field to the Structure
Design screen to provide control of a base's extension. Note
that existing base pieces will ignore this parameter until
they are updated in the database.
- Slab Thickness on the Piece Editor screen now controls a
base's slab thickness.
- Added new "Generate Hole Name" and "Generate End Name" check
boxes to the Pipe screen (see Pipe Library and End Library
tabs.) Both fields control whether the system should
automatically generate a name. In the past this was
definitely frustrating if you supplied the name first all to
realize that it gets wiped out when you start filling in the
fields. Now you can change that behavior by unchecking the
Generate Hole Name or Generate End Name box. When the box is
unchecked the system will not generate a name and you are free
to supply the name at any time while you're working on the
pipe or end library entry. Both fields default to a checked
state for a new library entry.
Build 1.1.58 June 23, 2006
- Bug Fixes:
- When the structure screen detects an invalid entry while
saving, it no longer resets to the last saved data (thus
throwing away all of your data entries for this structure,
that you read off of three different pages of the job
drawings, that you already highlighted and now have to
re-find, causing you to get angry and throw things at your
co-workers, causing you to lose your job, leaving you
destitute, so you steal food to survive, until they catch
you, lock you up, and you die a slow death, poor, bitter,
and imprisoned. (but that won't happen any more, 'cause
it's fixed!))
- Fixed a bug in the elevation routines that draw round
holes on the back of box structures.
Build 1.1.57 June 20, 2006
- Openings in boxes can now be trapezoids with guard rods.

- Added Reinforcing Spec to allow selection of simple
reinforcing plans.
- Oversized holes (larger than the inside core of the structure)
are now drawn better in box structures.
- Openings can now be drawn using AutoCAD blocks. Bring us your
complex, your bizarre, your unusual openings yearning to breathe
free. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed, to me.
- Structure ends can also be drawn using AutoCAD blocks.
- Reports and graphics can now be customized to show Metric
units even when the internal calculations are in English. Of
course, it also works vice versa.

- Channel weight for sloped bottom is now calculated.
- Bug Fixes:
- Added Allow Frame Collision field to the Structure Design
screen. When checked a structure that is too tall will
collide with the frame drawn at the specified Top Of

stranded data to save, unlocks all open jobs, then just goes
away. Now if it only started up so quickly ...
- New graphics fields allow slab reducers to differentiate
between a 2x3 top opening from a 3x2 top opening. Also between

this one a long time ago. Argh.
- Status information is now stored in the database. This makes
loading jobs marginally faster, after the job is synchronized
with the current version of MH Pro! EZ.

parts. Specifically, a 24"HI base can be preferred over a
16"HI or 32"HI base. (This has been implemented only for one
company, but we know that all of you are arbitrary, so if you
want to prefer some parts in an arbitrary way, drop us a
note.)
- Elevation View dimensions now go up to the TopOfCasting.
- Bug Fixes:

Contents.
- Reducing structures can now specify the minimum height
required before reduction.
- Pieces above reducers can now try to match the key on top
of the reducer.

screen. That is, library entries can be created from the data
in a structure's frame, grate, pipe, or end even if the
original library entry has been changed or deleted.
- Adding a note to a piece on the Piece Edit screen
automatically causes the piece to be included in the Shop
report, even if there is no other reason for the piece to be
considered custom.
- Bug Fixes:
- Killed some elevation view dimensions with 0 length.
- Damn round off monster only looked dead. Now it has been
stabbed, shot, and hung.

elevation is probably not where you want the new
opening.
